The Design Issue
There’s a lot about the magazine industry that has changed in the last two decades. Fact is, a lot about the world has too. Since this magazine was founded, there’s been a Great Recession and a pandemic. The housing market had collapsed, then bubbled, then burst then climbed once more. The world has gone digital and social yet now bookstores are on the rise again. And much like the houses we write about, Atomic Ranch has stood firmly and weathered the test of time thanks entirely to the community of modernists, preservationists and businesses that support us as we aim to support the community right back.
It\'s fitting that we chose our Design Issue to commemorate this our 20th year. This issue was a new creation in 2016. Just one of the many innovations we would go on to make in Atomic Ranch’s growth. It’s also the issue where we focus on diving deep into the cannon of mid century history while also profiling what the movers and shakers of this industry are doing to honor and continue the tenets of MCM today.
